Thanks so much for stopping by on Six Sentence Sunday. Today I’m sharing six sentences from A Prescription For Love again, the third book in my Oklahoma Lover series that releases from Soul Mate Publishing on October 17th:
In this scene, Michael brings Heidi to his family home for a birthday celebration for his cousin. He hasn’t brought a woman with him since he broke his engagement to his cheating fiancee nine years before:
“Who’s this?”
Michael drew Heidi forward. “Miss Heidi Lester, my new employee.”
Ellie continued to stare at the two of them and then her lips eased into a sly smile. “Indeed? Your employee, Michael?”
I hope you enjoyed this little snippet. I’m excited to have it released. Michael was one of my favorite characters from A Run For Love. In that book he was only sixteen, and in this one he’s a jaded twenty-eight. But I think Heidi does a good job of un-jading him, lol.
Please check out the other six sentences from some really talented authors. If you would like to read a full excerpt of A Prescription for Love, go here: http://calliehutton.com/?page_id=478
New employee indeed! Love this story!
Hi Ceri,
Thanks for stopping by. Appreciate your visit.
Sounds like a romance is blooming. I want to know what happens next. Great Six.
HI Brenda,
Blooming is definitely the right word. Thanks for saying hello.
He’s going to get ribbed for this one. I love it when families are involved.
Hi Ella,
Yes, he does take some eye rolling and snickering. Poor guy. But it’s his family that pulls through at the end when he needs them the most.
LOL. Love it, Callie!

Hi Tanya,
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you liked it.
Must mean something if he brought her home. Employee, I think she’d be much more.
Ah, Jessica, you have to wait and see what she means to him, hehe.
Love it! Great six!
Thanks, Sara. Appreciate you stopping by.
Fun.
Hi Charlene,
Glad you came by.
That sneaky Ellie…she’s so much fun and she sure doesn’t buy that Heidi is “just” an employee!
Ya think? Thanks for saying hello, Christine.
Great snippet, makes me want more
Thanks, Mandi. Happy to liked it.
Michael is a brave soul to bring her to meet the family. Of course, they’re going to read more into her presence! LOL Fun snippet, Callie.
Thanks Silver. He is brave — also naive about how they’ll view it, lol.
Ooh! I remember this scene! Love it and great choice, Callie. I can’t wait for it to release!
